Chenault Hammond, P.C. was established in 1949 by William L. Chenault, II, the father of current member William L. Chenault, III. Mr. Chenault practiced as a sole practitioner until joined by his son in 1974. Stephen V. Hammond joined the firm in 1979. Erick K. Pratt joined the firm as an associate in 2002. Laura Terry joined the firm as an associate in 2011.

The firm is a general practice firm with emphasis in civil and criminal litigation and bankruptcy law. They accept cases in the following counties of North Alabama: Morgan, Madison, Limestone, Cullman, Colbert, Lauderdale, Lawrence, Marshall, Winston, Franklin, DeKalb, Jackson, Etowah, Calhoun and Jefferson.
